Is it difficult to change the speedometer on a 2000 883 Harley Sportster?

good probability that this is not the speedometer, but the speedo sensor that has gone wrong. The speedometer sensor is very easy to change, is a cylindrical black cap at the top of your transmission case behind the rear cylinder. This has a black wire out. You unhook the wire harness and remove the screw for the case and treated immediately. easy cost, $ 50US. The real question is why did it fail in the first place?
