Is it possible to economically exceeded a motorcycle helmet or I'll be better off buying a new one?
I have a GT2 Bell helmet I bought in 1987 for $ 225. There is nothing wrong with that except the lining has dried. All rubber, plastic and straps are in excellent condition. The vents and most of the features available in the past helmets. It never has been in any accident or impact. The paint is still in good condition. I'm not cheap. Hate throwing something that can be used. I have extra helmets that match my new bike. This helmet is not so I stopped using it. One of my friends made the request to be used for any field (quad) constituency. I do not want to give them is so dangerous.
Bell (helmets and other companies) are generally not sold "kits foam" due to safety concerns to another person apart from the manufacturer to play with something that might affect the operation of the hull. Teams of padding to add a little more have a good buffer, but not over these foam kits. It may be possible to create your own interior foam, or buy a prospectus for a new helmet that is inserted removable and fixed on the hull in some way (no tail - you can eat the Styrofoam). Another thing to consider is if you damage the foam, polystyrene foam interior, which is essential to protect in a car accident may also be compromised. Given that your friend wants to use Off-road ATV riding, I'd be a little less concerned was going to do with a road runner but still told him a new helmet, it would be more convenient and probably safer. I know it was a lot of money to pay on time, but some things are not meant to last forever.
