Is John Deere die-cast metal replicas regarded as toys for children to play with or collectibles?

Wife and I have a disagreement on toys for children for Christmas. Before she and I together, was used to buy their 2 children metal replica of John Deere tractors and I like playing with them. But at $ 25 each and I even think it is to get both through a toy. I think they are for collectors and for people who use them in models and models for display. She said the plastic toys John Deere cutting and breaking too easily. What do you think?

Well, I was allowed collect some of them in recent years and I think it could be one or ... Depends on the age of the boys. I think most are better for collecting, but if look around Walmart, are like matchbox toys from John Deere, probably would be more appropriate to play with a collection type conversion die.
