Motorcycle Winter storage?
Hello, I just received a 2009 Kawasaki Ninja 250R and I just want to know the correct way to preserve for the winter, when it comes. I have a shed in my backyard, but it is humid all year round and do not want the bike to rust, which took my sisters need bike.Just some tips on how to properly store. Thanks in advance.
First, wash and wax your bike. This will help prevent corrosion Fill tank of fuel. Add a product called Sta-bil fuel. Run the engine a few minutes to allow the Sta-Bil enters the carburetor. The reduced full fuel condensation in the fuel tank so that the interior will not rust. The Sta-Bil fuel on spoil and avoid the formation of dirt in the carburetor. Change oil and filter. Remove the candles and not add more than 1 ounce of oil for each engine cylinder. Install the spark plugs, but not the son. Start the engine for a short period to distribute the oil in the cylinders. Reinstall the son of the spark plug. Lube the chain. Remove the battery. Store in a safe place at home. Get good bike cover. This will help keep clean and dry in the storage shed. Spring: Installing the battery Lube chain Check pressure control air filters Tire Fire it up and enjoy.
