Car Crash! Do you have a good advice in dealing with insurance companies?
My husband crashed the car today - fortunately, though very painful, it's okay. He hit a bollard on a roundabout at about 25 mph. There was an oil spill on the road and the car slid. Fortunately, we have a witness and the police were very helpful. The guys were there on the road 15 minutes to clear the road. Apparently, there had been 4 accidents that week! The insurance company asked my husband to take responsibility! I told him no. Have you been in a similar situation? Tips welcome. Thanks
If the road has been 4 accidents by the spill and you can try this with the police - then it is the responsibility of the local Council and / or Department of highway to accept responsibility - even if they always deny it! Notify your insurance company to recover costs of local councils / Department of Roads However, if the oil spill can be attributed to negligence of the Council / Highways - can be your husband have to take responsibility.
