Try to estimate the age of my house during this period were rectangular, conical, finishing nails, the hand?
I've never seen one of those nails celebration of tongue and floor of groove in all the old houses? The nails are rough and raw as compared with modern nails. They seem to be made of pure iron instead of steel, and often have a thin oxide layer on its surface. It's almost impossible to extract from soil to high, because they have no head. They are extremely rigid, but fragile. When you get them below the ground with a hammer, producing sparks, and sometimes snap apart after arriving, 2 or 3 times. I'm trying to find homes for people to delay built using this kind of "old" nail. My feeling is that were used until late 1940. Does anyone know for sure?
I demolished several old barns and houses in the past and have seen these spikes before. However, these nails are still in use today. They are available at local hardware store. Plants have been installed with them because of small or as you say no head. The round head to prevent the tongue and groove together right if it is properly positioned. Your right, are extremely resistant to and is used for the nails of the concrete block walls. The houses built were demolished around 1935 to 1940, but both types were found.
